Semi-Precious Stone Malachite
Malachite is an ancient jade material; the main component is basic copper carbonate. It is a luxury stone, especially for the indoor decor.
In ancient China, malachite was called “stone green” or “green Lang Gan”. Malachite is so beautifully named for its color that it resembles the spotted green of peacock feathers. Malachite occurs in the oxidation zone of copper sulfide deposits and is often associated with other copper-bearing minerals (azurite, chalcocite, chalcopyrite, natural copper, etc.).
Malachite generally exists as large slabs and tiles, suitable for floor and wall decoration, and some custom crafts
The world-famous producing areas are Zambia, Australia, Namibia, Russia, Zaire, the United States and other regions. China is mainly produced in Yangchuan of Guangdong, Daye of Hubei and northwest Jiangxi. Malachite is also known as “blue jade”, “jade blue treasure” and “blue chalcedony”.
